UCLA Staff Highlight

Estellaleigh Franenberg, UCLA Alumni

"Seventeen years ago, I was a newly widowed mom desperate to find a place to belong. Today, in my dream job as Creative Director, UCLA Alumni Marketing and Communications I help cultivate enduring, synergistic relationships between the university, alumni, and students.

My professional network and experience have been enriched through gifts of professional development like Management Skills Assessment Program (MSAP), Professional Development Program (PDP), and True Blue Toastmasters. I've given a TED Talk, I am a mentor, I read applications for the incoming freshman class, I was a blogger for the inaugural Bruin Health Improvement Program (BHIP). UCLA nurtures proactive staff with opportunity so seek it out."

Join the Campus Cat Network

The Campus Cat Network at UCLA is composed of UCLA staff volunteers and has been maintaining the feral cat population on campus since 1989 when Law Professor Taimie Bryant established the program. In addition to replenishing food and water on campus, the group is involved in all phases of trap-neuter-return work, including capturing for spay or neuter, return of unadoptable cats to the campus, and fostering of adoptable kitties until permanent homes are found. The group is seeking staff who are interested in capturing and fostering.

For detailed information on the activities and how to join, please visit https://ucla.in/2InjdXH or contact Dennis Lyday at dlyday@ucla.edu.
