Explore the Exciting World of Cutting-Edge Archaeology
Go on an archaeological adventure in this new lecture series, presented by UCLA Extension and the world-renowned Cotsen Institute of Archeology at UCLA. During this ten-week series, distinguished archaeologists will share their research and thrilling stories from the cutting edge of archaeology.
The series presents lectures from top archaeologists, including Egyptologists Kara Cooney and Willeke Wendrich; and Han Barnard, who uses state-of-the-art chemical methods to identify ancient food, and more.

Mental Health First Aid Winter Training
What is Mental Health First Aid?
Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is an internationally recognized interactive training that provides a comprehensive introduction to risk factors and warning signs to a spectrum of mental health problems and crises.
Since its US launch in 2008 more than 100,000 people have been trained in all 50 states.
What does MHFA teach participants?
MHFA teaches participants how to recognize the signs of mental health problems; how to offer and provide initial help and how to guide a person toward appropriate treatments and other supportive help.

Applications for Fall 2017 due January 9th
Geffen Academy at UCLA’s first students will be admitted for the 2017-18 academic year, in grades 6, 7 and 9 and up to half our students will be kids of UCLA Staff and Faculty. Geffen Academy is an inclusive, university-affiliated school for 6th to 12th grade students who want to develop their intellectual curiosity, leadership capabilities and connection to something larger than themselves.
