Coffee with the Chancellor

November 17, 2020
8:30 AM - 10:00 AM
On Zoom

APPLY NOW

Breakfast with the Chancellor gives UCLA staff a unique opportunity to meet and interact with Chancellor Gene Block in an informal setting. As we have moved to a virtual setting, we encourage staff to bring their coffee and join us on Zoom. Participants will be expected to be on video, and asked to remain muted until they are invited to ask a question. Through this application process, 15 staff members will be randomly selected to participate in the upcoming Breakfast with the Chancellor event. Supervisors of those selected to attend will be notified and are encouraged to grant sufficient release time for the breakfast, provided that the absence would not infringe upon the performance of required job duties.

Eligibility: All staff members who have at least one year of service and currently hold career or contract appointments may apply to attend the breakfast. Those classified as Senior Management Group are not eligible. To ensure maximum number of staff participants, those who have been selected within the past three years will not be eligible. However, those who have applied but not been selected may apply for future breakfasts.

Please complete the online application by 11:59 PM on Monday, November 2.

Sign Up to Volunteer
What is the Purpose:
Volunteering with BruinsVote is a unique opportunity for UCLA staff to engage with students and community members in an out-of-office environment such as this in support of our national election. Our BruinsVote volunteer team is the first line to engage with students and community members, to answer questions, address specific concerns, assist with the enforcement of our COVID safety protocols, and offer general support as needed in order to create a safe and comfortable voting experience. We are the Bruin hospitality.

What you will be doing:
Acting as a UCLA host to those coming to campus to vote you will be reminding guests of our campus policies (masks, no smoking, 6’ distance) and providing directions as needed.  When you arrive for your shift you will check in at the stage in Bruins Plaza where you will receive your volunteer assignment.  While you may not be always be doing something during your shift know that your presence is incredibly helpful, very much needed and extremely appreciated.
