Money Skills for Teens Workshop

As part of our overall commitment for promoting financial literacy to the community, we will hold the 3rd annual Money Skills for Teens workshop this summer.

We learned (based on national statistics), that there is a big need for teaching young kids about money early in life, prior to heading to college or entering the workforce. In only 2 weeks (6 sessions), teens would learn many things their parents wouldn’t have the time to teach them about:

  1. Creating money management goals
  2. Developing a budget that can help maximize your money
  3. Investments
  4. Understanding credit and the cost/risk of using credit, including college loans
  5. How to protect your assets

We would be happy to extend the 25% UCLA Staff discount to the kids of UCLA employees. Just enter the special code U0025 when enrolling. Let us know that you heard of it through the Staff Assembly newsletter!

Please click here to visit our Money Skills for Teens web page which provides further information about the class and a link to the Summer ’16 flyer. Teens who participated in past sessions where very enthusiastic about their learning.
